MUSKEGON

Director of Evangelism Outreach
Pastor Darrin & Nicki Longmire

My name is

Darrin Longmire.

I grew up in a loving and safe home environment.  My three siblings and I did not want for anything.  I was a pretty good student in school and didn't get in much trouble.  I was the kid who said, "I will never do drugs or drink."  I had a number of bad influences in my family.  After graduating high school I started hanging around those bad influences and began to smoke weed and drink regularly.  That escalated to crack cocaine and pills in my early adult years.

During my early thirties I was introduced to heroin and my life really began to spiral downhill.  My wife filed for divorce, I lost the respect of my family, and I was losing my relationship with my kids.  I was in a terrible place in my life. The climax of my decline was when I overdosed in 2006. God spared my life.  That was my wake up call.  I got clean and stayed clean for eight years. In 2014 I had shoulder surgery and that led me back to pain meds and heroin.  I came to Western Michigan Adult/Teen Challenge in 2015 and that changed my forever.  I am who I am today because God used the instrument of Teen Challenge in my life.

"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

-Romans 8:2-3
